Here’s the rough route we took after we left Caen. We headed north and cycled through Sword, Juno, and Omaha Beaches, some of the DDay landing beaches. In oustreham we visited a giant former German bunker and at Juno Beach we went to the Juno Beach Centre. We had a wonderful guide from Montreal who took us into the remains of some of the German defences there. The kids were impressed to discover that 16 Frances can fit in Canada! After Juno we headed west to Arromanches where you can see the remains of the huge artificial harbour the Allies built. Below you can also see a monument to the Canadian bicycle corps that came to Normandy after Dday.
